Default Unanswered: (TV) Bradford council estate drama..

I remember sleeping at a friend's house about 8-9 years back and briefly catching sight of some drama that was on TV fairly late. It was filmed on a really rough council estate with high rise flats in the background. I'm inclined to think it was Bradford, although I can't be sure. Of the 10 minutes that I caught, It showed a small group of kids jumping on the bonnet of a parked car and an ice cream van with music aloud, making its way into the Mêlée. Can't remember much else, I wish I'd watched more of it. I don't think it was a serious drama but I could be wrong.

Anyone care to try and offer some title suggestions?

Umm, yep the broadcast date would tally up nicely. I wouldn't mind betting it is this.

Thanks.

Could this be My Summer Of Love with Paddy Consadine. This is set on a Yorkshire estate, I saw it on tv about five years ago. Well worth a look even if I'm wrong as it was made in 2004.

My Summer of Love (2004) - Plot summary

Regards
Freddy

Default Bradford etc

If a rough area then likely Bradford, plenty there haha. There have been lots of stuff filmed in Bradford when it was a nice place such as Billy Liar, Room at the Top. Other stuff that comes to mind are Brookside Damon and Debbie,Chimera, Band of Gold,
and of course Rita Sue and Bob too.Am sure there are others. There high rise flats are possibly Manchester Road as it is quite rough around there.D

And not forgetting a series with Russ Abbott which I think was Spring and Autumn, although that was just over the border in Halifax.D

it sounds like Blood and Peaches to me, a two part drama set in Bradford around the time of the festival with the Elephant. The story focused on some inter racial relationships against the backdrop of racial tensions being caused by a local BNP type group led by Richard Norton. The scene with the ice cream van is near the beginning.

I still have the first part of this video, but I cannot find the second part anywhere.
