two irishmen ,possibly brothers ,running a car repair business ,genteel comedy ,was on bbc mid 90s

Just because you saw it in the mid 90s doesn't mean that it wasn't made some time before. Maybe you missed the first screening and saw a repeat?

definitely mid 90s ,some of the cars used as props were later than 87,it used to go out around 8pm on a friday night ,the men were irish but it might have even been set in liverpool or manchester ?

You remember the year of the cars, but no more about it like who was in it or what it was called?

The ability of some males to remember details about cars, or even to be able to tell the difference between most of them, never ceases to amaze me

i can quote some of the reg nos if you like ! no seriously i remember where i was living at the time as well ,it may have been that the bbc brought this over from ireland as filler during the summer months ,with no plans to promote it or anything which is why its not remembered

Was it definitely on the BBC? I looked on a sitcom website for you with pretty much every show broadcast in the 90's and there doesn't seem to be anything which matches your description.

Why not conatct the Irish Film Board and look for information?

it was definetley on the bbc mid 90s ,problem was it had no "stars "in it either so i cant cross reference it on the imdb

I spent about 30mins trawling through past BBC Sitcoms and your programme you enquired about was called Safe and Sound (1996 BBC).

It starred two Belfast Motor Mechanics and was directed by Tim Prager.
