Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum, big hello to you all. It's amazing, because I've scowered for hours trying to find out what this film is called, and this forum has the perfect section. So I will relay what I can remember of this film.

I watched it on a terrestrial channel between the years of 2001 and 2004. It seems like the kind of film that would be on channel four.

The film started off with two friends; a white boy and a black boy, of about 12 to 13 years of age. The opening (or a scene near the beginning, I think) involved the white boy walking across a field past some older lads (late teens) who are playing football. One of them kicks the ball too far and it comes close to the white boy. The lad who kicked the ball asks for him to kick it back but the boy replies with some reason he can't (a medical condition I think). The older lad becomes very angry and runs over to him and grabs him by his shirt. The older lad shouts something about him not being different from anyone else.

At this point the white boys black friend runs over to help him. He ends up fighting multiple opponents. He headbutts one. Although he is smaller, younger and outnumbered he doesn't do too badly. The white boy shouts for help, and a man who is at the back of his van notices. He closes his van doors and run over. The older lads run off.

The man gives the 2 boys a lift. From this point on they befriend the man. I think I have forgotten a large gap from this point on. But after this the man ends up fancying the white boy's older sister. The two boys pretend to help him by taking him to a clothes shop and having him try on some new clothes (I think to impress the boys older sister). They are laughing at him with each costume he tries on looking stupid.

I think the man goes on a date with the boys sister, or attempts to talk to her, but is rejected.

The man talks to the white boy on his own and the man is very angry. He makes very violent threats against the boy saying that he knew he was laughing at him.

After this, the white boy doesn't come out in their trio and there is a scene where the man brings out ice cream for himself and the black boy, who questions the white boys abscence. The man gives a reason of which I cannot remember.

I think this is where I stopped watching. I remember another scene where the white boys father throws down a large amount of pornographic magazines to him outside a first floor window, while the mother is shouting at the father.

Anyway, I'm not sure if this was a film, or a T.V. program (I don't imagine it was any kind of series, more likely a one off or made for T.V. movie.) But if anyone knows what this is called, or has any more information to chip in that would help, I would be most grateful.

Thankyou very much.

That is indeed the film. Thankyou very much. It's amazing because I have been wondering what that film is for years. It's funny too, because Paddy Considine went on to star in Dead man's shoes. Which I saw the box cover and spend quite a while trying to find out what that film was called.

But yes many thanks indeed!
