I cannot remember this film extremely well but I remember some key points.

There's a young lad with long(ish brown hair) and he takes a liking to a girl who is part of the punk scene. He tries to mix with the punks relatively unsuccessfuly. The leader of the punk group of friends is a lunatic with short blonde hair, and there is a scene where the lad pulls a prank on him in a phonebox and he goes crazy smazhing his hands and feet through the glass pannels.

Another distinct part of the film I remember is the lad's father has telekinetic powers and recalls how he once managed to levitate his friends tortoise when he was a boy but accidently causes it to explode. Up until then the father had recalled it as being the best day of his life.

I would be very grateful if anyone could tell me the name of this film. It looked really good and was quite unusual

His brother did magic tricks, he didnt get on with the father.....I think it was set in the 70`s. The main boy worked in an office and the punk girl worked with him, only she dressed like an office worker there and not a punk.

She asked him to run away with her.

LULU was in it as the mother!!!!!!!!!!!!!
