If it was Pavan it would have to be What Price Glory? except that is set in WWI and France. Nothing else on her credits looks remotely likely.
In Teresa she has a lead role, so it doesn't seem likely to be the film sought. Otherwise, The Battle of the Bulge seems possible, but the geography is wrong again. |

Having searched IMDB I think that the film I was thinking of was A Walk In The Sun with Dana Andrews and Richard Conte. However it was made in 1945 and Angeli would have been 13. But IMDB cast list doesn't show any women in the film at all. Yet if it is the film I am thinking of there were a few women in it at different times in the film. One of them had a baby that was hungry and the woman has an affair with a soldier while they are in the town. A Walk In The Sun is about a group of soldiers making their way inland from town to town. I am sure this is the film I was thinking of as I had never seen it before and knew about it. Halliwells film guide says that it just concerns one day but that isn't as I recall it.

Yes that's the one I am thinking of not A Walk In The Sun. It was on a few months ago and I had seen it before but couldn't remember much about it. At the end there is a firing squad in the snow. Frank Sinatra sings Have Yourself A Merry Little Xmas over it.

It can't be her sister Marisa Pavon because I didn't know who Pier Angelli was until I read the name off the credits at the end of the movie. It's definitly not 'The Victors' because I've seen it recently and that follows a group of soldiers through Northern Europe.

Was it perhaps Darby's Rangers (from late 50s)? That film involved US troops invading Italy, not sure about the liberation of Rome though. Starred James Garner and Ed Byrnes, and several actresses unknown to me. IMDB says the film includes the involvement of the soldiers with women. How unusual. Regards - Bernie |
