Film No. 2 could be "The ghost camera" (1933) directed by Bernard Vorhaus and starring John Mills, Ida Lupino and Henry Kendall

Best wishes

I recently bought a DVD of "A Sense of Freedom" in an online sale for a couple of quid. Haven't got round to watching it yet, but when I do will look out for the scene mentioned and let everyone know if it is indeed the right film.

Being Glasgow born and brought up (though having lived down south for the past 20 years) I'm looking forward to seeing the city in all its seedy magnificence.

The film in question was indeed "A Sense of Freedom". Jimmy Boyle had his hands broken and is kneecapped by a rival criminal gang who then spread rumours that he's dead, so he gets his own gang to smuggle him out of hospital. He then has a pint in a pub where he knows the rival gang drinks, though barely able to lift his glass and still bleeding from a head wound.

Well, the general consenus does seem to be that it's A Sense of Freedom, so that's what I'll go with. Thanks!
