Default The Counterfeit Traitor

I have worked in the Film Industry all my working life. In the early 60's "The counterfeit Traitor" was released with a film called "The Cattle Carters" which the company I worked for produced. Does anybody remember either. Also The counterfeit Traitor never seems to be shown on TV anybody know why?
Regards

Counterfeit Traitor was shown about three years ago. I saw it as a kid and remembered a scene where the Nazis pick a striking worker at random and hang him, it really upset me, but I could could never remember the name of the film until that most recent (AFAIK) showing.

This is available as a Region 1 release and can picked up for approx. £5 from the usual stockists ( Amazon etc ).

At that price well worth it

I remember seeing THE COUNTERFEIT TRAITOR when it was first released (circa 1962(?)). I think it's a true story of a double agent (played by the late great William Holden) in Nazi-occupied northern Europe.

Lili Palmer looks stunning as a landlandy-cum-resistance-fighter.

I too remember the scene where the Nazis hang civilians...

A great movie, well made in the finest traditions of 60s cinema.

And a good VHS copy was available (from USA?) last year. Great film. Hugh Griffith almost stole the acting honours.

The book is also well worth seeking out.
