Evenin' all. Hope you're well. Can someone please help me to id this film - I have only very sketchy details to go on, I'm afraid. I'll be 40 this year and last saw this film probably around '78-ish.

As far as I can remember it seems to have been shot at least partly in the coastal regions of the west of Ireland. But this could be utterly wrong. I do however remember some well shot footage of a winding cliff top road, way below waves are pounding secluded coves. You get the idea. Might even have been a car chase. Hmmm.

Next memory - an isolated cottage, small dwelling. Camera pulls back from close up, over moors, revealing the extremely secluded location. Guy's been chloroformed or something, comes round with the obligatory headache and peers through a window.

Next memory - guy somehow escapes (could even involve the ol' placing a piece of paper under the door and working the key out of the hole, then dragging it into the room maneuver). At any rate, his captors soon twig and give chase. With dogs. Across the moors our hero dashes, scenes of breathless sprinting through peaty ditches - then down into a stream, where he realises he'll be able to lose his scent. So follow the stream he does, and as far as I can recall, does indeed manage to escape.

Beyond this I have nothing. Not a sausage. Could well be that I've mixed up 3 or 4 films here. But if anyone can help I'd be very grateful. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Could one of them be Figures in a Landscape?

Possibly, yeah. The locations for that film don't jibe, however. Thanks for the suggestion though.

But of course.

I haven't seen it for about 20 years but I remember liking it. There's a great cast too.
