Default Unanswered: Do you know the answer??

I have been searching for a film for a while now, but am having no luck. I thought some of you may be able to help. Its a tall order but here goes...

When I was very young (about 1975) I saw a british B&W sci fi film about an alien invasion. All I can remember is that aliens invaded and that a village in the English coutryside was taken over. I vividly remember a scene of an alien carrying out a woman out in his arms from (what I remember as) gym? or a sports hall??

Bizzarely that is all I can remember, but I am desperate to find it! Even if anyone coudl give me a kink to a definitve list of all our British sci films from the 60's and 70's? Then I could have a sift through that.

You never know, one of you may know exactly what Im mean from that very brief scene!

Keepin me fingers crossed!
cheers

Could be The Earth Dies Screaming as it's in b/w and there's a sports hall involved.

These are the alien robots...

Dremble could be right here. Main externals were, I believe, shot in a village near Berkhampstead.

We never see the aliens in that. But the "alien" carrying the woman could be one of the rescuers who go in when the "visitation" has finished

The Earth Dies Screaming was shot not far from me in Shere (Surrey) which has often been used a film location in the likes of The Ruling Class, Bullseye! and recently The Holiday.

Shere is also the village seen through the camera obscura in A Matter of Life and Death (1946)
