Default Unanswered: Guy Fawkes Killer

First British film I saw as a kid in the 50's involved a killer and something to do with Guy Fawkes Day and Bonfires. Anyone got a clue what it was?

Hangover Square? Not a British film, but takes place in London around Bonfire Night:

Don't know if it it rules it in or out but this is Laird Cregar disposing of Linda Darnell's body in Hangover Square

This seems familiar. It was definitely a contemporary film set in England. I remember being frightened as my sister told me it was based on a true story

Well, this was a 'true' story...it was part of the Edgar Lustgarten 'Scotland Yard' series. I watched it a month or so back, and it seems to be the one your looking for.
