"Both of these movies are US made and are crime dramas. I expect that they would have been made in the late 1960's or 1970's.

The first one features a car chase where a part of a broken guitar lodges under the brake pedal of the chased car, and causes both the car and driver to hurtle over the end of an unfinished motorway flyover bridge when the driver cannot apply the brakes.

The other is where a crime scene ( a motel room) has been soaked in acid in order to destroy evidence, and the detective in charge instructs that the acid be soaked up with a powder like chemical in order to permit examination of the room.

I can't recall any more, I am afraid. Thanks"

In his original post the member concerned asked for help in tracing a US site to help him ID these films. As he asked in an appropriate manner why not bend the rules a bit for him. US films are often discussed from time to time and this isn't a request for a trade, it's simply a member wishing help in identifying some films.

On the 'looking for' threads. 'Can you name' now tends to include anything.

No. 1 is I'm pretty sure Paul Bartel's "Cannonball" known as "Carquake" in the UK, starred David Carradine & Veronica Hamel from 1976. The unfortunate Bill McKinney goes over the edge of the unfinished bridge. he had earlier been driving for a C& W singer played by Gerrit Graham hence the broken guitar. It's all about a cross country car race.

This is Mr. Carradine making the jump

& Bill McKinney not making it

hope this helps
