Default Answered: Game, Set and Match *solved*

I remember seeing an excellent espionage thriller
in the 1980's on either BBC or ITV - the title
runs something like " ____ , ____, Caracas,
Mexico" and is about a senior MI5 operative /
controller who'se wife turns out to be a KGB
officer. The plot takes the MI5 agent to
Venezuela, East Germany etc., and his wife is
always 1 step ahead of the game.
It was shown over 3 - 4 weeks and is very much
in the John Le Carre mould - although I have
checked his titles, and couldn't find anything
like the above listed.
Anyone out there have any ideas ??
(Sorry, I can't remember actor/actress names)

Sounds like the 1988 miniseries "Game, Set and Match" based on one of the Len Deighton spy trilogies. Part of the action took place in Mexico and it revolves round the defection of the protagonist's wife to the Soviets (Ian Holm /Mel Martin). Sadly, not available on VHS or DVD as far as I can see.

The series was available for a very short time on VHS in the US as a boxed set. Very hard to find.
I have been told that the series is available from Granada if some puts up the x pounds per hour to copy it. An expensive hobby. I have the complete series on tape but some tapes are beta, some are NTSC, etc... which makes copying an
expensive process.
