Hello everyone,
I love films, and find it really annoying when I remember a scene or situation and then forget which film it's from

I posted this description on a non-film board, but then discovered this one

I haven't got many clues but I remember a British made spy film (possibly based in the cold war in a London suburb.)

A couple have a room to let in their house- a fairly respectable street and a stranger visits the house and wants to take the room. About the same time a new couple move in opposite their house

Somehow they discover that this man is watching the house opposite, taking photographs and recording times people enter and leave the house. There is one man in particular who visits the house on a regular basis.

Can't really remember what happens....(sorry)..but it turns out the new neighbours are transmitting British military secrets related to the design of a new underwater weapon.
The house has radio contact with Russian intelligence

It's in colour and as a wild guess- I'd say 1970s onwards

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm sure this is actually a film and not one of my dreams!!

PACK OF LIES (1987) is a TV film of a stage play of the same name, about real life spies Peter and Helen Kroger who were part of the so called Portland Spy Ring.
An earlier and perhaps better version of this story was RING OF SPIES (1963) directed by Leslie Gilliatt and starring Bernard Lee, Margaret Tyzack and David Kossoff.
