Default Unanswered: Time Gentlemen Please! *solved*

I tand to collect old British BW films on video - often things I've seen earlier when I was a kid. Of course, I can't remember the titles of some of them...

I've got four that might start some guessing games (but I'll do them as seperate posts).

My recollection of the first is very hazy. I'd say it was a British BW comedy film, perhaps from the 1930s. From what little I can remember, the main character is a resident of an almshouse. For some reason, someone wants him out of the almshouse (so they can redevelop it or something), and try to get him to break the terms of the charity by stopping him from getting back to the home by a certain hour. It reminds me a bit of Will Hay's style, although I'm 99% certain it isn't actually one of his films.

Having read the plot for "Time Gentlemen Please", I think that might well be it (even if, from what I've read, I seem to have turned the plot on it's head - well, I said my memory of it was a bit vague!). Thanks very much, anyway....I had spent ages trying to work it out!

I too have been looking for this film - I think that the alms house staff will inherit the building if they can get rid of the old bloke. I'm sure though that it wasn't Time Gentlemen
