It would seem it difinately is The Whisperers. I must have only been about 11 yrs old when I saw it. I used to watch Boris Karloff films (franky) at that age and then have nightmares, every week I'd keep watching knowing I would be scared.

from around the 60's. It was a sort of tense drama (I think). An old lady had someone trying to get her money(I think)It could have had someone like Thora Herd or Dora Bryan in it. I remember a room chock full of old newspapers and someone trying to find the money in there and the old lady watching a quiz on TV like Take your Pick or Open the Box, very vague, sorry

Yes, Hugo I believe you're right,I don't think it had Thora Hird or Dora Bryan in it though,but it did have the great Leonard Rossiter in a small part.I'm pretty sure Edith Evans won a BAFTA for her perfomance.
