Trying to remember a movie I saw as a child. Its black and white and starts with a scene of a guy riding a bicycle down a runway..an abandoned airfield or something...then the movie goes back in time to when he was flying in RAF...my memory probably is flawed so the above minimal description might be different in some way to the real movie...thanks in advance to anyone that can help..cheers David

Twelve O'Clock High (1949). The film begins with Dean Jagger cycling to the abandoned airfield in 1949 where he served in the war.It was the USAAF not the RAF.

The Way to the Stars (1945) opens with the camera pannimg around a derelict airfield but I can't recall a bicycle.

The Way to the Stars is a truly great film, with wonderful performances, including of course the delectable Rosamund John!
