BACUS

This one has been bugging me for years. Can anybody name the film and any of the actors etc?
the only bit I can remember in the film is one scene:- A man is tied up and a belt of cork is tied around his waist (so that he will float) a cap is tied to his head and on the cap is tied a fish! he is then put into the sea from a boat. The idea of the fish is that some kind of sea bird dives down to get the fish and cracks the mans scull! This is done I believe as punishment by the locals for some form of unfaithfullness (to his wife?). I also believe it takes place near a remote Scotish island.
