Double Life of a Dead Man *solved*

I remember seeing a film years ago on television. A British black and white film -1950's maybe? I can remember that the wife of a man who had been murdered or disappeared found out that he had a double life. i remember that she went into a pub and it turned out that he had been going into that pub every night after work for years. -Everyone knew him and he was very popular. However he had never mentioned this to her and she began to find out other things about him... i think there may have been another woman?....anyway i hope someone can help me with this....it is one of those films that i keep expecting to be on channel 4 on weekday afternoons but it never has.
