Vague memory of thriller from late 60's/early 70's

Sorry to be extremely vague ...

Hero gatecrashes some social gathering by following members of the press in to the building. Each of them shows their press card to the chap on the door , the hero shows his Dinners club card. When the man on the door tries to politly refuse the hero swiftly knocks him out with one punch.

Also I recall a scene where a lorry reverses into and demolishes a wall in torrental rain although it may of been from another film.

Sorry this is a bit sketchy but I saw it on Tv about 20 years ago.
