Play Dirty.
i am looking for a desert war film about the lrdg/sas,i have no idea of the name or year or stars.all i can rember is of a jeep driving towrds the screen and playing you are my sunshine on the radio, the driver has his dead commander in the jeep.
Yes, definately Play Dirty.
I caught the end of this WW2 film about 6 or 7 years ago on TV and it's intrigued me ever since. I can’t remember if it was b/w or colour but I'll guess it was b/w and made in the 50’s.
It features British and German soldiers and Arabs so I assume its N. Africa.
The 2 main British characters have returned to a German held town (dressed as Germans?) just as it is being overrun by British. Its very hot and dusty. They nip into some out-building and find some Arab clothes and wander back out into the street.
I may have got the British and Germans the wrong way round, I may have got the German and the Arab clothing the wrong way round too, it was such a long time ago now.
I have no idea how the 2 came to be on their own or what they got up to during the film.
Can anyone help with a name or title?
Play Dirty, with Michael Caine and Nigel Davenport maybe?
"PLAY DIRTY" 1968 it is. Written by Lotte Colin and the south bank shows Melvin Bragg. I got my DVD from USA for under $12.00 a couple of years ago. Very good 2.35:1 widescreen print. Don't know if its for sale in UK.
It was the one that rang the bell. Colour and possibly Italian uniforms at the end...been a while too.
Thanks Neil1889 and Hackett for your swift answers. I'm going to order the dvd if its for sale.
