I remember over 20 years ago seeing a film on TV where Bruce Forsyth is walking around on a beach. It was quite a weird film - anyone remember what it's called please?

Just a guess, but possibly "Can Hieronymus Merkin Ever Forget Mercy Humppe and Find True Happiness?". http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064123/

BF was also in STAR ! with Julie Andrews, playing Gertie Lawrence's dad. He was also the chauffeur of the mean man in Graham Stark's THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN DEADLY SINS, where his character ended up clambering down the drain to recover 50p which had been spotted by his boss.

These are from memory - he may have done more...

I have a hazy memory of seeing a clip from a film that showed Marc Bolan in a top hat, on a beach, with Bruce Forsyth singing.

Is this the stuff of nightmares?

I'm sure Marc Bolan wears a top hat in his 1974 "vehicle" BORN TO BOOGIE, directed by Ringo Starr of all people. But I've only seen it once, many years ago, and I can't remember if there was a Brucie bonus.

This was indeed "Can Hieronymus Merkin Ever Forget Mercy Humppe and Find True Happiness?", described at the time as a very expensive home movie. Filmed partly in Malta, it starred Anthony Newley, his wife Joan Collins, their two children, several friends and assorted hangers on. Autobiographical in nature, it is said to have ended the Newley marriage, as Newley was reputedly having an affair with the former playboy model who portrayed Mercy Humpe in the film.

Does anyone have a good quality DVD of this film that I could get a copy of? I have a large collection to swap/trade. Thank you.
