This is undoubtedly "The Corpse" with Michael Gough, a very strange and sadistic film. I'm not sure if there is a DVD but the NTSC tape is easily obtainable second hand under the alternative title "Crucible of Horror".
Cheers, John
Hello-
I have a remote question about the title of a British film I first saw on late-night American cable about five years ago. Judging from the film quality, I'd estimate that it was shot somewhere between 1969 and 1971. The plot had to do with a family of four - domineering and abusive father, submissive wife, daughter and son. The scene I remember was the daughter running afoul of the father's rules and being whipped in a rather vicious fashion. The mother and daughter eventually conspire to kill the father and hide the crime. The movie itself was very gripping, and I'd love to have the DVD in my collection, but the problem is that I can't for the life of me remember the title of the film or the names of any of the actors.
I know this is a longshot, but if anyone has any ideas, I'd greatly appreciate the help. Thank you!

John, thank you very much - that is indeed the title. It was a very odd film, with a somber "pins-and-needles"atmosphere. I just ordered it under the "Crucible of Horror" title.
Thanks again for your help!
And thanks for bringing it up so I can continue adding to my Michael Gough collection. He's such an AWFUL person - torturing his poor wife and daughter like that. SHAME on him! SHAME!! It's no wonder giant apes attack him - I'm even more impressed with Bruce Wayne for taking him on as a rehabilitation project!
