I haven't seen it but this might be the one;
Burma Victory (1945)
I am trying to find a film I remember seeing years ago. It was Black and White World War II film set in BURMA, based on a true story, about the British Battle over the Tennis Court. The battalion of a few men were left to hold back the Burmese for a few days before they got help. At the end of the film, information was written on the screen naming the soldiers that were involved and that they had been awarded the victoria cross, usually given to the dead.
I would appreciate any help you can give. My Great Uncle was one of the men that survived and has never seen the film.

The Battle of the Tennis Court was the turning point in the Battle of Kohima in North East India (not Burma) from April 4 – June 22 1944. Indian and British troops fought the Japanese not the Burmese.

I am pretty sure i do have a copy of this.If interested please send me a pm.

Kohima ridge is close to the Burmese border and I think was regarded as the decisive battle of the Burma campaign.

It's the Kohima memorial that has the simple but moving epitaph
There was some very fierce fighting at the Battle of Kohima. 2 VCs were awardedWhen You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say,
For Your Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today

I agree with Dylan. I've seen parts of this movie and read something about it, and the factual basis for it.
But was it actually a feature film like dawnpearman asked about? I've seen the Battle of the Tennis Courts described in documentaries. Burma Victory (1945) was also a documentary and is about the whole Burma campaign so even the whole of the Battle of Kohima would only be a part of that

Good question, Steve - I don't know the answer. I remember the piece I saw was quite lengthy (30 mins + ) and could well have been part of a feature movie... never saw the whole thing (documentary or movie). Anyone have any ideas?
thanks guys. i'm sure my uncle will enjoy watching
