back room boy (1942) starring arthur askey, moore marriott, graham moffatt and googie withers.
Many years ago in the 60's when Sunday afternoon TV often used to show an old B&W film such as Old Mother Riley and George Formby etc, I remember a B&W Comedy film whereby the characters were in or near a lighthouse after dark. The light flashed and one of the characters came out with the line "That was a short day" which we all found very funny at the time...( I know we needed to get out more in those days!!)
Anyway, I cannot remember the title of the film at all and it has bugged me ever since.I have a recollection that the character involved may have been Moore Marriot but cannot be certain.
Anyone have any clues?
Regards.
