I think this is Defence of the Realm with Gabriel Byrne and Ian Bannon amongst a great cast.
Would love to see it again as well.

Hi,
I am hoping someone can help me with this...
Quite a while ago I watched a film (British made during the 1980's) I think the main storyline was that a government minister (Labour MP) had been uncovered by a duo of journalists to have been in contact with KGB agents. The plot ensued and the ending was the male journalist going home, putting on a classical LP into his record player which then activated a pre-planted bomb which obviously wiped out his threat of exposing the minister.
The ending of the film was the echoes of parliament demanding the truth behind what had been leaked. It was a very good, low budget film but I'd love to watch it again...just can't remember the name or any of the actors!
Hope someone can help!
Thanks
