I watched a film in the early 90's, must have been on c4. It involved a brother and sister that murder their parents and end up burying them in the basement of their house. Towards the end the brother and sister end up sleeping together. I know it sounds weird but I recall it being on after the watershed.

I think it was British, or possibly Australian. I was young when I saw it and would like find it again. I cannot recall any actors from it. Very vague memory of it.

I think their father had a heart attack whilst laying cement in the garden and their mother stricken with grief takes to her bed and dies about half way through the film.

To avoid being taken into care the kids build the mother a concrete tomb in the basement.

I always wondered where it was filmed, as I recall their house was completely surrounded by demolished buildings

Our Mother's House (GB 1967) has a similar theme

I was curious about location - after watching the DVD this evening - and found this post, by 'Only-a-Child', at Amazon.com:

THE CEMENT GARDEN's outdoor shots should look familiar as Stanley Kubrick used the location back in 1987 for the main battle sequence of FULL METAL JACKET.

He used the abandoned Beckton Gasworks just across from the Royal Docks area (Beckton-Silverton, London).

The area has now been transformed into London City Airport.

Going by the extras on the new 'Special Edition' DVD. The house was just a prefabricated building that got erected for the film and then demolished afterwards.

But does anyone know if those 2 huge grey 1960's Tower Blocks which appear in the background are still standing today?

Their prominent whilst Jack is walking along the road reading the book his younger sister bought him for his birthday.

I believe their the same high-rise flats that featured in the first Lynda La Plante 'Trial And Retribution' story back in 1997? It's the one about the little girl who goes missing and Reece Ifans is the rapist and killer.
