Default Answered: Tales of the Unexpected: Hijack. *solved*

Greetings all;

I'm new to this site and I need some help. Years ago when I was traveling
thru Europe I saw a movie on TV. I believe it was a British movie about a
hijacking. It was a large aircraft and the hijacker secreted himself in the
forward restroom with a "kidnapped" female flight attendant and gave direction
to the flight crew thru this woman. He demanded (I think it was a million pounds)
telling the crew to fly to a smaller airport. When the plane landed, he told
the captain to count the money, and, if it was correct, he would release the
passengers. The count was correct, and the passengers were released. The
hijacker, still in the forward restroom, then directed the crew to take off, fly
in a certain direction, and appeared to bail out with a parachute. However,
the crew had hijacked their own airplane, and, split the money evenly at the
end of the film. The hijacker never really existed, but was a ruse to throw
off the authorities.

I recall see this in the late 80s, or early 90s. Thanks for your assistance.

Cliff

That is very familiar because it was shown on UK television a couple of months ago. It is not a film as such but a "Tales of the Unexpected" episode entitled Hijack.

"Captain Waterhouse has to deal with a man on board his airliner who seizes Milly, a stewardess, takes her and a bottle of nitroglycerine into a tiny lavatory, and demands one million dollars in ransom money, plus a parachute for himself. The hijacker believes both have been delivered to him, and he jumps out... However, the story is not over yet..."
