Slayground is from the right period but it's set in Blackpool...
Can anyone help pls. I am trying to find a film made about 1980 -1984. A lot of the film was based around an amusement arcade in London or Brighton (I think) and the film had a SKA musical theme...
Save me..........

Is this what you're thinking of? [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Machine-Charles-Forsyth-Stephens-Coltrane/dp/B000PMGRQ4]Amazon.co.uk: The Fruit Machine [1987]: Emile Charles; Tony Forsyth; Robert Stephens; Clare Higgins; Bruce Payne; Robbie Coltrane: DVD[/ame]
Thanks both. Slayground is a possibility. I wish I could remember more about the film...
SLAYGROUND is actually set in Southport- or at least the second half of it is. It starts in America, then moves to London, and ends up in the North. It's a semi-horror concerning a hitman called Stone (Peter Coyote) who is on the run from a supernatural assassin called 'The Shadow Man', employed by the father of a young girl he accidentally killed in a bungled heist. His best friend is Brother Terry (Mel Smith) who has set up home in Southport with Billie Whitelaw and is now running an amusement arcade/funfair. This is obviously the setting for the bloody climax, as such places tend to be in films of this kind.
However, there are no ska tunes involved (plenty of George Thorogood though) which leads me to believe that this is not the film you seek.
