I remember watching a British programme when I was young (late 70's/early 80's) and it really resonated with me. Unfortunately I don't know the name of this drama. It was based in a forest in the summer, and the main characters (adults) were acting and playing games as though they were children. A particular scene I remember was a barn being on fire, and the "adults" huddled together crying.

It was very British in a similar vein to Nuts in May (very rural and eccentric).

Sorry to be vague, but I remember being completely captivated by it.

Thank you Captain. I just checked it out and it is indeed Blue Remembered Hills.

I'm slightly embarassed as it is Dennis Potter who I am a big fan of! Can't believe that went under the radar. I'm not sure if the idea has dated over time, but I remember being transfixed by it at the time. Many thanks.

I saw it as a play at the National Theatre a few years ago and thought it still worked well.
