Okay this was a TV drama, broadcast between 1990-1995, in colour and set present day.

    PLOT

Middle aged woman lives alone in a big old, victorian style town house. She starts receiving odd phone calls (caller hanging up or breathing heavy etc.) I believe she then gets some threatening mail and before long she is completely paranoid and scared that someone is watching her. She then starts doing alot of curtain twitching to see if her 'stalker' is outside watching.. but nobody is ever seen.

**SPOILER** the ending was really original and shocked me. It would appear that the 'watcher' was infact in the house the whole time and was attatched to the 11ft high victorian ceiling in a room not often used. The drama ends with her walking into this said room and looking upwards in slow motion as her jaw drops open. He then drops from the ceiling and it then cut to black.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? and.. and... would you by chance happen to know what the devil it is?

Doesn't ring any bells with me but it sounds great .... it is similar to the excellent The Dumb Waiter.

He blends in with the wallpaper! I remember that film, it has the lovely Jill Schoelen in it and the actress from the first film crops up as well.

That's the only film I could think of, but a watcher hidden on the ceiling sounds intriguing, too.

I seem to remember a similar scenario in an episode of 'A Touch Of Frost'.

Wow, a fortnight of no replies and then 5 come along at once

I'm faily sure it isn't any of the suggests proffered so far, but the A Touch of Frost episode interests me and it might be the one. You wouldn't happen to know the name of the episode would you Brent? just so I can eliminate it from my inquiries.

    Thanks, Nandywell

I definitely remember this program, I can't think what it was but rest assured that you haven't imagined it. I think it was a one off production, I don't think it was part of any series but I don't know for sure. I say this because I'd have been inclined to watch the week after, unless of course, it was the last in a series. I too would love to know what the devil it is.
