It was black & white and american. I can remember the following quote:
There are three things you cannot hide: love, smoke and a man on a camel
any ideas?

Yes, it says so in Halliwell's Film Guide and in this extract from a New York Times review:
We could go into greater detail about the plot, but that should give you the idea. Miss Colbert plays the stepmother with an ageless charm; Miss Allyson is exasperatingly petulant as the troubled girl; Mr. Pidgeon is cheery and full of bounce as the patient suitor, and Mr. Barrymore is his customary blunt professional self in only one scene, as the probing psychiatrist.
There is an old Arabic proverb, used more frequently than sounds necessary throughout the film, which contends there are three things that can't be hidden, to wit: "Love, smoke and a man riding a camel." We have a fourth suggestion and that is a picture as ludicrous as "The Secret Heart."

I watched it on a rainy Sunday afternoon when I was an early Teen and loved it and always remembered the quote.
It's a relief to finally get the title.![]()
