'very bad things'(1998) starring christian slater?
These details are going to be very vague unfortunately.
Watched a movie just a few years ago which had a bunch of American teenagers travelling by car across part of America like Nevada. They start getting murdered one by one.
I Remember at the time wondering whether or not there had been any good teenage horror clicks from the 00's - similar to Halloween, Nightmare of Elms Street and Scream. Then I saw this film shown on probably the BBC a few years ago which I recall being really good - but I can't remember much about it at all.

Definitely not 'Very Bad Things'. The movie I'm thinking of has teenagers aged around 20.
Could this be Joy Ride?
Wrong Turn (2003)? Involves some young people on a camping/hiking trip.

Jeepers Creepers (2001) and Jeepers Creepers II (2003) also involve young people making cross-country trips.

Sorry but none of the above are correct. I'm sure it was like a group of teenagers, possibly as many as seven.
Final Destination 2?

Sorry. Not the film I'm looking for.
Could it be Detour (2003)? Seven teenagers are driving through the desert (could look like Nevada?) coming back from a rave and - inevitably - run into some psycho-killers.
