Trip away

I'm trying to remember the name of - either a one off TV drama or a film that I watched, probably, late seventies/ early eighties that had quite an impact on me at the time.



I think it was about a group of impoverished children and teenagers taken away on a school trip.



I can remember these snippets - clear as day - but not the rest..



A young teenage boy trapped in a car he had stolen which then blew up.



A girl sitting on the edge of a cliff saying she will jump if she is made to go home.

Thinking on, you could be fusing two Willy Russell plays.

Sounds very much as was already mentioned the excellent One Summer.If it helps jog your memory at all the main two characters were Liverpool schoolboys Billy and Icky who ran away to Wales where they had previously been on a school trip because it was the only time in their lives they had ever been really happy.It really is a superb drama and I'm happy to say now widely available on dvd.

I can remember that - it is the rest I can't remember - the girl on the cliff - I don't see how that ties in..I just thought there was a class..I think you might be right - I've put two together somehow.

I think you are right Ste. I have confused the two. I must have been pretty young when I watched the first one mind you.
