early 80's film

Hi all,

this is my first post. I remember watching a film about 1982/83 ish, about an astronaut. While in space he was hit by solar radiation, then he returned to earth. I remembered that his eyes turned red, but not sure if he became a super hero or something, as I was about 14 at the time.



Does anyone remember what this was called?
