Can anyone help me identify a film I saw on t.v as a kid back in the 1960`s.It must have been made in the 50`s or earlier as films took a long while to get to t.v in those days.I saw it in black and white as my parents had a black and white telly so I don`t know if it was in colour.

It was a gangster film and a woman was involved with one of the gangsters.The only other thing I really remember is a woman who was either the other ones friend or sister was becoming famous as a ballet dancer.A few times throughout the film she said"Always be nice to the gentleman of the press" or something similar to that.
