Default Answered: one series and one film

You folks have been a great help in the past, so here goes again.

I believe it was in the late sixties or perhaps seventies that I remember
seeing a British sitcom about a few guys who were London bus drivers. I
didn't see many of the series, but I do remember one where the bus company
ordered new uniforms for the drivers; the guys hated them until they wore
them to the local pub and three lovely Swedish girls mistook them for airline
pilots. Any idea if this series is available anywhere?

Now the movie. Circa 1968-69. Sean Connery starred, and I believe it was
called "The Last Man". It involved either a spy, or an assassin.

Thanks for the help.

The sitcom sounds like "On the Buses" (1969). That ran until 1973.

Could the Connery film be Ransom (1975)?
The closest to that title in Connery's films is The Next Man (1976)

Default Thanks Steve

On the Busses must be it. I remember Olive; I believe she was a rather robust
lady with thick glasses.

I'll research Ranson a bit further as it sounds like a good film. However, I don't
think this is the one. I remember in the end, Sean was actually killed by a
female operative of some sort.

Many thanks for the reply.

It's definitely ON THE BUSES as I distinctly remember this plot. OTB is available on DVD in the UK and in Australia - it has seven series (seasons) which are available individually or as a single boxed set.

It was definetly On The Buses and the episode was entitled "The New Uniforms". The two girls that played the Swedish girls were Pauline Cunningham who played Birgit and the stunning Yutte Stensgaard who played Ingrid. Not too much is known of Pauline after around 1976 but Yutte found fame as a Hammer Horror starlet, go to The World of Hammer Glamour for more info on the beautiful Yutte. Those girls liked "the airline peelots who flied yumbo yets"
