Hello this is my first post. In fact the reason I joined the forum was hopefully to have a question answered . I am trying to remember the title of an old british B & W cloak and dagger film a victorian murder mystery in which 13 policeman were murdered the assailant used a sword. it was something with the number'13' in the title or maybe the word 'sword. Made perhaps in the late thirties. There were no memorable stars of the day in it but I remember the film being televised two or three times in the sixties. Not much to go on I know I have tried to remember this film title for years - I hope someone may know it.

Thank you for that I am sure you are right. However I was convinced it was a pre war production. The link you provided confirms the plot as the film I remember. I didn't remember Peter Lawford as lead in the film either. Thanks again

Just realised that it's a remake of The Mysterious Mr X so maybe you saw that one.
Hello again
'The Mysterious Mr X' doesn't ring a bell even though it fits my thoughts about the films origin. I will have to try and see both versions. Thanks again
