One for horror buffs, filmmakers aspiring to make films in the horror genre, and anybody who likes a good chiller.
Join us as world renowned film journalist and author, Alan Jones (The Rough Guide to Horror Movies), joins in conversation with David Mc Gillivray (journalist, stage and screenwriter and producer of many cult 1970's 'B' horror flicks) to delve into the guts and gore of the genre and discuss:
• the key ingredients of a good horror movie
• how tastes and styles have developed over the decades
• the masters of the genre and why they got it so right
• why horror is having a massive resurgence in literature, film and television.
More about our guest speakers:
Alan Jones is an internationally renowned critic, journalist, broadcaster and author specializing in horror fantasy. He is co-curator of the UK's biggest genre festival FrightFest, and his bestselling books include 'Profondo Argento' and 'The Rough Guide to Horror Movies'. He is currently writing Guillermo del Toro's biography.
David McGillivray wrote and appeared in several horror films of the 1970s – among them House of Whipcord, Frightmare, House of Mortal Sin, Satan’s Slave and Terror – which were not particularly successful in their day but subsequently achieved a degree of cult success. He spent the next 20 years in comedy, notably as Julian Clary’s writer, before returning to horror with a series of shorts for his own company Pathetique Films. Their cult success is due around 2024.

Not really sure about this... I only know him as a screenwriter/actor... for anyone interested in Pete Walker and Norman J Warren films this could be an interesting event...
