Horror Hotel is in fact the American version of The City of the Dead atmospherically directed by our own John Llewellyn Moxey and I am sure it will be fantastic to see it on a big screen.
The Classic Horror Campaign is screening a couple of real classics this Sunday at the Roxy Bar & Screen in London from 3pm.
Horror Hotel was actually the first film made by the iconic Amicus Films and stars Hammer legend Christopher Lee. It’s a spooky tale of witchcraft in a mysterious small town and is highly atmospheric.
The Abominable Dr Phibes is a colourful art-deco styled horror romp starring the inimitable Vincent Price….and watch out for a cameo from Brit Scream Queen Caroline Munro!
Tickets are available from WeGotTickets as well as on the door. But beware! Seating is limited and this one is gonna be a sell-out!

City of the Dead/Horror Hotel is not really an Amicus film. It is credited to Vulcan Films which was a company set up by the co-financiers being Rosenberg/Subotsky (who later founded Amicus), Britannia Films and Hannah Wenstein Fisher. Director John Moxey states that he was hired by co-producer Donald Taylor who represented Britannia's interests. Cast and crew seemed to have been resourced by Taylor and Moxey (Subotsky couldn't get a wotrk permit). Although Subotsky wrote the original story and he and Rosenberg put up some of the money in exchange for the US distribution rights there is little evidence that Subotsky had much input on the shoot or that he was involved in the post production editing like he later did extensively on the Amicus films. Britannia had the UK rights and the film was distributed via British Lion and shot at their studios, Shepperton.

If anyone sees them on a big screen, please let me know what they looked like!
Another double bill suggestion (black and white and colour): The Haunting (original version of course!) and The Masque of the Red Death.
Here's a double-bill suggestion for you. How about that perennial fan-favourite ASYLUM, coupled with TALES THAT WITNESS MADNESS? Two compendiums linked by a common theme. The latter film would probably be a very decent draw as it hasn't been in general circulation on TV for a good long while.

EDIT: Oops!! You already mentioned ASYLUM...apologies!
Another suggestion - two 'off-beat' vampire films which had a very good stab at updating the bloodsucker mythos back in the 70s: VAMPIRE CIRCUS and CAPTAIN KRONOS - VAMPIRE HUNTER.

Great suggestions guys!
The Classic Horror Campaign tends to screen one older black and white film followed by a colour movie from the 60's or 70's in an attempt to recapture the feel of the old BBC2 Saturday night horror double bills of the 70's and 80's!
It would be great to screen Captain Kronos, a very underrated and original vampire flick!
With regard to the Classic Horror Campaign I note that they are screening the following double bills and on the following dates:
Sunday 21st August - House on Haunted Hill(1959) + Asylum(1972)RE
Sunday 4th September – Black Sunday(1960) + Horror Hospital(1973)

Can you recommend any other older classic horror movies that would work well in a big screen horror double bill event?
I have been thinking of some classic double bills that could be used. Apologies in advance for the length of this list, but they are all classics, and do seem to compliment each other. Many mirror the original screenings back in the golden days when the BBC screened the Saturday evening Classic Horror Double bills. Those were the days, and I think that we all should be supporting The Classic Horror Campaign. Keep up the good work! Anyway here are my suggestions:
