It's not too late to see rarely shown Bogarde gems this month on the big screen at the BFI Southbank. The print for the screening of DESPAIR is the restored one from Bavaria Media overseen by the original D.P. Michael Balhaus.

While you're there, stop by the BFI Mediatheque and enjoy the offerings in Bogarde on the Box: the 1983 Guardian Lecture; "Above the Title," Russell Harty interviews Dirk; "Voices in the Garden," a film adaptation of Bogarde's novel; and others.

And to America! Hopefully in a Bogarde Tribute or even one for Ellen Burstyn, an American. We'll take PROVIDENCE any way we can get it.

Amazing! Who knew Ellen Burstyn would be billed as Ellen McRae. Torin was very convincing!

I found her billing curious, too! I love the story overall - Krakatoa.
