It hasn't really been mentioned here but the BFI Southbank (still called by some here the National Film Theatre) have programmed a really good season of classic MGM musicals which have been running through November and continue until after Christmas. American-made of course but we have seen a handful of Brits appearing including a very young Angela Lansbury as a lady of sin in The Harvey Girls.

With the Library of Congress recoveries season, the Disney 50, and various smaller seasons, plus the Bogarde retrospective, the BFI have really raised their game this year, and the Mediatheque is also worth keeping an eye on with most Play for Todays now available and many other goodies.

Coming up in December is the annual Missing Believed Wiped which this year has one programme of a mixture of recoveries of classic TV, and another all-music special which should be well-worth seeing.
