It was about time something like this happened in London, and wanted to share this with you all...

"UNDER THE INFLUENCE presents: The Return of MIDNIGHT MOVIES!!!

Leap Day 2008: The MIDNIGHT MOVIE makes a long overdue return to London’s nightlife. Once a month we bring you the best in cult classics, trash beauties and art house jaw droppers alongside exclusive previews. Saunter down to the Curzon Bar from 9.30pm for team mega mix DJ's, visuals and a party atmosphere before taking your seats for our very special feature, preceded by a cherry-picked low-budget short…(unless of course you have to be home before the streetlights come on!)

For our Opening Night, we are proud to launch ‘The Cult Film Reader’ (Open University Press), edited by Xavier Mendik, Director of the Cult Film Archive and Founder of Cine-Excess, who also doubles as our special guest host.

So come early, grab a complimentary Vedett beer (available with every ticket purchased) and customised goody bag, and witness the sickness of…SOCIETY (18), Brian Yuzna 1989."

Thanks for the tip. I won't be able to make this friday but have added my name to the mailing list via the link you kindly left. Hopefully see you there next month. Not sure what part of london you are in but the Rio Cinema in Dalston does a nice little late nighter at (Rio Cinema) and you can even hire out the venue for your own late nighter, details included in the link.
have fun on friday and please stay posted on how good/bad it was.

Just had a quick look around the site and found a link to a short film competition where as part of their BIFA sponsorship, Canon is offering the chance to win one of five HV20 camcorders. (Little White Lies | Truth & Movies)

Have already passed the link to some friends who I know will jump at the chance.

I was just thinking how apt it would be to show The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp about twenty minutes before midnight.
