Black Narcissus in Canterbury

Black Narcissus is being shown at the Gulbenkian Cinema in the University of Kent at Canterbury See their web site for details and tickets. Showing in tribute to the late, great Jack Cardiff, this is simply one of the most visually ravishing films ever made in colour. Shot entirely on sets in Pinewood, it reveals an isolated Himalayan convent where the nuns are driven mad by the sensuality of their surroundings. New 35mm print.
