I'm just getting ready to leave to catch the train up to Mull (the overnight sleeper of course) for the IKWIG Anniversary Weekend to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the release (actually the trade showing) of this wonderful film. There will be a group of us up there, staying in the Western Isles Hotel, visiting all the locations and having some IKWIG related fun & games.

You can join us in spirit by watching the film some time this coming weekend.

Steve

Yes, I hate the M6 too. Despite living in Surrey, I actually hail from the Lake District (ok, Barrow-in-Furness actually!!!) and hate the fact there are few viable transportation options if I want to go and see my folks for the weekend in Grange-over-Sands. Friday travel in this over-populated country is a complete and utter disaster. I started a law degree part time a few years ago and asked my lecturer whether I could issue a writ against the Transport Agency for failing to provide adequate transportation links. He just laughed! Most of the time, I'm moaning if I get held up by the odd tractor up here in the wilds of wannie

Well we have an abundance of fossils driving Hondas, Rovers and Malaysian Marinas, so the tractors and milk floats get frustrated stuck behind them, flashing their lights so that they can overtake!! The government should give them a reduced car tax rate if they drive a Ford Ka or smaller, and treble it for anything else! They get free bus passes why do they need a car for goodness sake!

Steady on sam or you'll be getting a visit from the Thought Police for being ageist!! By the way, what is the speed you normally drive at - within the law I presume?

Good morning boys.

But of course, as it was the I Know Where I'm Going! weekend, I didn't drive up there. I went up there by the overnight sleeper. Just like Wendy Hiller did in the film

It was a great weekend. 40+ people. Wet and windy (just like in the film) which was expected and we were prepared for it.

We got to a lot of the locations and it had been arranged so that we could go into a lot that aren't normally open to the public.

Full reports will appear on the PaPAS web site when we've collected the pictures & videos from various people and written it all up.
