Default ELSTREE FILM FESTIVAL - The Return

After last year's successful event the team at the Elstree Film and Television Heritage group are planning yet another film festival to coincide with the Borehamwood Town Festival in late June 2007.

The films slated to be shown are :

ON THE BUSES
THE RAILWAY CHILDREN
SUMMER HOLIDAY
SCARS OF DRACULA/THE DEVIL RIDES OUT Double Bill
RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK

Screening dates TBC

The festival's organisers are hoping that at least some of the screenings will be attended by people who worked on the films, for a Q&A session at the start of each event.

If anybody has any contacts with Cast or Crew who worked on any of the above, I'd be grateful if they'd drop me a line by PM...

Cheers,

SMUDGE

Odd selection as there were some great films churned out of Elstree in the 50s.

Yes, Mrs. Smudge & self enjoyed ICE COLD IN ALEX last year and were a little surprised that no older fare is on offer this time round. The Hammers are up for the 50th anniversary since CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN and the move into the gothics...

We hope there will be more guests to speak about these films as per last year.

Moi? Biased? Heaven forfend!

Looking at No. 3 - apparently, Harry Webb was my godmother's milkman/boy although I suspect that may be a family myth.

However, I'll still stick with No. 2 as the pick of the bunch.

All the best

Surely Bryan Forbes could be persuaded? He seems to do a lot of commentary for dvd extras.

With "ON THE BUSES" on the bill its a shame you can't get Veg Varney to come. I think he still lives in Enfield which is only a short bus ride away and on the 11th July this year will be 91.

That might just stretch the hospitality budget a little, a 'bus ride' all the way from Australia.... :
