Whilst myself a great admirer of Vera Lynn and her music, she was just one of many entertainers who went out to entertain the troops during WW2.
Strange thing I have spoken to many WW2 veterans and without exception they all say that during the war they had never even heard of her?
I remember her in B/W days when she had her own show on BBC and joined with the late lamented Eric Rbinson anf his ochestra (brother of Stanford Robinson) to provide us with great entertainment.
Super to hear that this great and much loved lady is still appearing on special occasions.
