Question British film studios

Does anyone know who holds the rights to films made by Butcher's Film Service, Mancunian, and Blakeley's Productions? I know that Granada International and Canal + Image UK have purchased the cataloques of many old British film studios, but, apparently, not these. I would also be grateful to learn who, if anyone, holds the rights to Folly Films, the cottage-industry company of Fred and Joe Evans, 1910-1922. I am a fan of the films of the Evanses, and also Will Hay, Arthur Lucan, Frank Randle, Jessie Matthews, Cicely Courtneidge, Elsie and Doris Waters, Jack Warner, Stanley Holloway, Max Miller, Norman Evans, Tommy Trinder, Gracie Fields, Arthur Askey, George Formby, and Charles Chaplin. Cheers, salop

Several Mancunian titles are on the EURO LONDON FILMS website, available for licensing...

A lot of the films listed from Euro London Films are for licensing only and are not available to the general public directly.

Their catalogue is a good clue as to which films are liable to turn up on satellite channels such as Movies4Men, though.

I was very excited to see William Shatner's Spghetti Western White Commanche in their catalogue, and now it's on the telly nearly every week!

I have that on DVD .... what a tremendously awful film it is!

Even though I can't get Movies4Men, I often look at their listings because it is sometimes a good indicator of which films will be coming out in Odeon's 'Best of British' series.

I was pleasantly surprised by the films Euro London Films have especially some of the lesser known and rarely seen british films from the 50's and 60's. So I am hopeful that these will find their way onto screen and Movies 4 Men seems the only willing channel to show them as no other channel seems to want to cater for these types of film.

I am generally fed up of so many of the other Sky Film Channels like Film 4 as they are another example of repetitive repeating. Seance on a Wet Afternoon was recently shown on Channel 4, it's seems like they are showing it on Film 4 every week.

Incidentally, when I contacted Movies 4 Men recently about the problems screening Passport To Treason (1956) they indicated that their repeat ratio is reducing and this should have a major impact on screen in late 2008.

Are you sure it's Butchers, and not Hammers The Dark Light?
