Default Ira Levin dead.

Sorry, guys, it seems that I have another death to report.
Ira Levin, author of the play "DEATH TRAP" later made into the film starring Michael Caine and Laurence Olivier has died on Tuesday, aged 78, so reports his agent. I believe he wrote some other well known plays too. Was it "The Boys From Brazil?"

Death Trap was Caine and Christopher Reeve. But a similar stage thriller to Sleuth.

TBFB could have been a first class thriller but Peck and Olivier both try to outact each other.

I immediately thought of Rosemary's Baby, but he did Stepford Wives too. Remarkable imagination

I thought Boys from Brazil was an excellent thriller, with both Olivier and Peck in sound form. I agree with Moor Larkin,Levin was a very imaginative writer.
RIP Ira.

Stepford Wives is a chilling idea, I enjoyed the film too. Am I in a minority, 'cos I actually prefer Deathtrap to Sleuth.

RIP.

I think Death Trap worked better on stage (William Franklyn was in it and very good he was to) but I always felt the film never quite came off despite the talent behind it.

Although the film of Sleuth is higly thought of, I found it a bit boring. The film of Deathtrap held my attention through to the conclusion. I saw the stage play with David Soul and Susan Penhaligon. It was excellent.

Deathtrap was superior in my opinion. I thought it worked extremely well, I thought Sleuth was overated mainly because of Larry. For some reason I thought that his character in the film was overshadowed by Larry love of his own acting skills.
