One of the best cinematographers of the last 40 years, Chris Menges is to receive the British Society of Cinematographers lifetime achievement award next week. Chris has twice won the Academy award for his outstanding photography of The Mission and The Killing Fields amongst an amazing career that also includes Kes,Gregory's Girl, Walter, Gumshoe, Local Hero and Comfort and Joy among many many great films in a career that started in the 60's on World In Action. He's also one of the most self-effacing, modest and genuinely lovely guys you could ever wish to meet!
