I had no idea, but doing a quick Google search for
ACOP cinema gave me quite a few sites that mention ACOP. Or, as they more usually write it, ACoP. And then I found a could that say it stands for
Associated Code of Practise.
That looks like the standard the system worked to, not the name of the system itself. I couldn't find anything for Grett
en Ward but I found a few under Grett
on Ward. They make things like the Gretton Ward Universal Control Box and various other systems used in cinemas. The equipment appears to be still in use at some art-house and private cinemas.
